Do you think it's right to list young lovers as sex offenders?
UncleRob, 2 weeks ago | FlagThis is an issue that seems so simple to me, but once again, our "leaders" have taken leave of their common sense.
Forced sex = offender;
Consensual sex = not offender.
Urinating in public? You gotta be kidding. A $100 fine and clean it up.
This is not to say that sex among minors should be encouraged. Sex education should start in the seventh grade -- taught by the best teachers in the school.
Some laws and concepts today are completely idiotic.
RealAmericanBiker, 2 weeks ago | FlagNow in another situation, a 19+ y.o. boy goes to a place where teens hang out and meets a 13 y.o. girl and takes her somewhere just for sex, well thats a different story. They didnt know each other and the older person is taking advantage of the minor.
A 21+ man is legally in a bar and meets a woman in that bar, she should be of legal age too. Or at least you would think the doorman or bartender is doing their job and making sure everyone is legal. That man after meeting the woman buys her a few drinks, dances a few dances with her, has a decent conversation, then they both agree to go somewhere for sex. The whole time he is not thinking about her age because she should be of legal age to be where they met and I dont know any guy that is going to ask a woman in a bar that he might end up in bed with her age. Well after having sex they part ways and when she gets home and gets into trouble for being out so late and tells her parents where she was and what she was doing, why should that guy get into trouble and then have his life ruined for the rest of his life just because she deceived him or lied and put herself in that position?
RealAmericanBiker, 2 weeks ago | FlagAgain shadows you are wrong. If a boy 16 meets a girl 13 and they start dating and become a couple and date like all school kids do there is nothing wrong with that right? Well they are still a couple dating 3 years later, he is 19 and she is 16, what says they have to break up? Everyone knows that most kids have sex and a couple that have been dating that long have had sex at least a few times. So there is nothing wrong with that 19 y.o. having sex with his 16 y.o. girlfriend
much less any reason they should not be allowed to see each other. Also if they were to get caught, what right does the law have to ruin that boys life for the rest of it? NONE! There are people that deserve to be on the sex offender list and there are some who dont. Each case needs to be evaluated and certain circumstan
ces need to be looked at before labeling someone.
Dak413, 2 weeks ago | Flagtime has proven even the threat of prison time can not curtail sex in society , why label teens as sex offenders,
when possibly you are putting the parent of a child to be, in prison, and then making Him a sex offender for Life, I find this senseless, but it seems it is used to to cut down the embarrasmn et of the situation for the parents, and that is the only reason it is done for ! I agree with shadows on this one, statutory rape laws were around when I was a kid, and almost never used, becuz people had more common sense, and there was usually a child involved , I find statutory rape a law of the dirty minded, and eth vindictive
! and the ones trying to salve their low grade pride !
