So here we are with a gun rampage in our own backyard
Do you still think the NRA is right? guns dont kill people etc?
What with this and the shootings at the base, and VA tech and Columbine and the Alabama shootngs and the DC sniper etc
would you say we have more mass gun killings in this country than any other civilised country in the west?
what can be done?
Meb452m, 1 week ago | FlagIn answer to you're question, YES, the NRA is right. Anyone with an IQ over 75 should be able to understand
that a gun is an inanimate object, it will do nothing of IT'S OWN ACCORD. If you don't understand that ,and you're IQ is below 75, I could understand but not sympathize with that. If you're IQ is above 75 and don't get it, then you're most likely a dumbass. You do not penalize the law-abidin g, you make the punishment for violent crime so severe that few would even consider it. This guy needs to be strung up from the nearest tree and hung by the neck until dead. Then his remains need to be left to rott and to remind all others that would consider a similar action the fate that awaits them. Something on the lines that the British goverment took in the 1700's -1800's to eleminate piracy, it works.
hawki123, 1 week ago | FlagRott, I toally agree with you on the gun issue. If you hear someone breaking into your home and you have to go to some trouble getting your gun and then go find your ammo, you are probably already dead. My husband is totally legal and has many different types of guns and rifles.
He has always practiced safety first with guns in the house. Yet he does not hunt as he can't bear seeing a deer shot. My five brothers have always been hunters. They eat what they kill. Once deer season opens you will find them at their hunting lodge with friends also.
Three weeks ago down around Lincolnton we did have a tragedy in our community of a guy we all knew, went to school with, etc. He was up the tree 25 feet and a board(or whatever hunters use besides tree branches, this friend fell the 25 feet because the branch, board, etc broke through and this friend's neck was broken and he died immediately.
But I don't equate a weak branch or whatever in the same vein as a gun. I am very glad that my husband is well able to defend his family should it be required.
The argument about do guns kill people will probably never be resolved. My husband taught our daughter many years ago how to shoot and she is good.He also taught her to alays practice the safety issues. And not to assume just because they think the last time they shot a gun that it's perfectly ok to shoot next time without checking out that gun. To be very careful of a gun with a hair trigger.
If those Ft. Hood soldiers had been allowed guns the death toll would have been almost minimal. Although I understand the reason why they are not allowed guns other than the MP's.
BornToBeWild, 2 weeks ago | FlagThe soldiers fighting the war has to pay for their own weapons and ammo through the black market because under the laws there they are not allowed in armed! Do you think the government
pays for those black market weapons? NO! So you have to wonder just where all the fundings for our soldiers in this war is actually going since it is claimed we are spending billions of tax payers dollars for it! Now where do you suppose all that money is really going?

Assault weapons should not be legal.
Weapons designed to be easily converted to assault weapons should be illegal.
Let hunters have their rifles, let licensed gun owners have their hand guns for protection
. But assault weapons should not be available to anyone but military and police. Possession
of assault weapons should be a crime. We have more guns in the US than in any other country and we have more killings. Guns have not made this country safer. Actually, statistics
show that a gun in the home, if it is to be used on someone, most likely will be used on someone in that family. I choose not to have guns in my home. You can feel free to have guns in your home, but please do it safely.
