My thoughts

On November 11th we honor the brave men and women who have served and are serving in our Armed Forces. These individuals are the true heroes of our nation. Over the generations this country has continued to produce people who overlook their own fears and comforts of life, to serve and protect our interests here and abroad. Without their sacrifices and that of their families, we would not have the right nor the voice to either descent or demonstrate our political, religious, and personal beliefs. There are many among us who fail to understand how sacred and precious these rights are, and how costly it has been to defend them. This nation was built on a foundation of principles laid out by our founding fathers called the Constitution, these words have been preserved in the blood of our veterans from as far back as the Revolutionary war, and must always be part of the fabric of our nation. I ask you all to proudly display the symbol of our pride, the American flag on this day of appreciation and to thank a veteran for their service. God Bless America.

The win for the Republicans in New Jersey and Virginia are a true sign of the discontent felt by the people. This is by no way a sweep or the portent of things to come, this is just an eye opener for those of us who are at odds with the direction this country has been going. It simply means that it’s possible to bring about a new direction with hard work and a strong campaign. The 2010 elections are going to be a turning point and will decide the future for generations to come. We cannot allow ourselves the luxury of basking in these small victories, we must work diligently toward electing commonsense representatives who share the values of the majority of Americans. The progressive movement along with our friends at ACORN will be out in great numbers to rekindle the Obama magic, and it’s up to us the common man and woman to show that it is not magic, but merely an illusion from a socialist leaning pretender. This small victory just means that the pendulum in America is capable of swinging both ways with just a little push in the right direction.

  • Sorrry Dlinberg, but your explanation of why they didn't blame Obama is extremely weak....and, no matter how YOU try to spin it, all of the stars of the Republican party endorsed this guy, and the RNC endorsed him themselves, and he lost....and, it was a Congressional district that had been conservative for over 150 years!!! You get that, 150 years....so, the last time it was not a conservative in that district, Lincoln wasn't even President yet......and, the DNC did not spend more than your conservative party guy...

  • Lefty, nice try but that was about as phony of an election as Obama's.  The DNC put more money into the Independants campaign then the Republican party.  There was no primary to pick a candidate and the republican that was the candidate was just left of Pelosi.  She even endorsed the democrat when she dropped out.  You amaze me with your spin.  You better get all the gloat out of your system because your 2010 is not going to be pretty for the left.  The reason the press claims 60% said Obama had nothing to do with their decision was that they are just tired of seeing and hearing him.  We all need a break from his constant campaigning.

  • So, does the loss of a Congressional seat in NY not matter? I mean, Sarah Palin, Dick Armey, and Rush Limbaugh personally endorsed the conservative, and he still got his butt kicked....I don't think a couple of governors getting elected really represents much....the exit polls were very clear that more than 60% in each state said that Obama had nothing to do with their decision...and, this is not an election that draws many people, at all....in 2010, you will see a much bigger turnout, since there is more at stake....but, I think us picking up a congressional district that had voted Republican for over 100 years is much more telling....the sad part is that America is tired of your brand of politics....doing nothing...being against things that average American really support....But, we'll see....I think you'll be surprised..
