• Double Dipping With DROP

    The Florida State Legislature wrote into law the Deferred Optional Retirement Program which allows state educators to retire, receive a lump sum retirement payout, then be rehired.

    The latest and most public person taking this option is Seminole State College President, E Ann McGee. McGee makes $230,000 a year and will be retiring November 30th of this year. She will receive a lump sum payment of over $390, 000. And then (get this) she will be rehired on January 1st, 2010 which is in the parameters of the law.

    This practice has happened elsewhere in Seminole County. Remember Seminole County Schools Superintendent Bill Vogel? Remember when the Seminole Country School Board voted against giving teachers raises, but approved one for Vogel. Well, prior that, Vogel had retired under the DROP program receiving undisclosed amount of retirement, then came out of retirement to become Seminole Schools Superintendent. This is also occuring in several Seminole County Schools, and I suspect other county school systems as well.

    What is most disturbing about this, while it is legal, is that teachers cannot get raises, extra curricular activity programs are being scrubbed (including many sports programs), students cannot get the required education (Winter Springs HS for example has gone from an "A" to "C" school), yet a select few administrators are getting their pockets lined.

• Tolerance and Compassion

    It seems like the so called liberal ideology of "tolerance and compassion" is anything but.

    I saw a post yesterday on an "unnamed blogsite" that has a picture of female anatomy "photoshopped" on Sarah's face, and labelling her with the "C" word. Is that tolerance and compassion? Or is the liberal "feel good" agenda only one them and their sheeple?

    Let's take a look, shall we?

    The liberals are supposedly the party of female championing and womens rights. One would think they would be ecstatic about a self made woman who has a wonderful family (issues and all), a full-time career, and who is handling it all in a dignified manner. But no, they tear her down, call her names, and look for new ways to continue their hateful assault on her (just read the Newsweek article, look at their cover).

    When Bill Clinton was being accused of rape by several women. The liberal N.O.W. and media came out in defense of these women, correct? Absolutely not. They tore the accusers apart as well, even calling one of them "trailer trash". Of course, they were all about supporting Anita Hill when she falsely accused Clarence Thomas of sexual harrassment. So, just by these few examples I would have to say the left is about supporting their far left wing agenda, rather than women's rights.

    Let's look at race shall we? I already mentioned the Clarence Thomas ordeal, but there is more. They called him "Uncle Tom" because he did not speak like them, was educated, and was more conservative than they liked. Just like they tore down Michael Steele when he was running for Governor of Maryland and Ken Blackwell in Ohio. They even went so far as to illegaly obtain Steele's credit report and make it public. Yes they called them "Uncle Tom" as well. Who does the left hold as heroes of the black race? Liberals like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Jeremiah Wright, and Louis Farrahkan. Interesting. So, one could again make the case that liberals are not for black people making a better life for themselves, but rather pushing the liberal agenda tolerance, compassion, and "dependence".

    Looking further at the media, when Obama was running for president, an unknown man approached Obama on the campaign trail and asked him about income and taxes. Obama, in one of his many gaffes when he is speaking without his teleprompter, admitted he was for spreading wealth. The media decided to check that out, right? Once again, no. They dug into Joe "The Plumber's" background, and villified him in the press (it ultimately made him even more popular with the general populace). What about 11 AP reporters "fact checking" Sarah Palin's book, which I am sure they did with Obama's book, The Audacity of Hope, (as well as Clinton's and Gore's) correct? Nope, they let little facts like Obama (Ayers) writing "The white mans greed runs a world in need" and "siding with the Muslims" slide. Or what about his long standing relationship with radicals like William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, Tony Rezko, and his radical "black power" Pastor Wright. They checked those connections out during the campaign, correct? No, but they did send throngs of reporters to Alaska to dig up dirt on Sarah Palin. Again, it is the press supporting the far left agenda.

    So happy Sarah and black moderate/conservative denegrating, you intolerant, hating liberals. Try as you will, you will not break them. Come to think of it do your job well and you'll see the country rally behind them to a great extent than they have now. We moderates and conservative outnumber you by a lot.

    I listened to Obama over in China.  At a time when the US is sitting at 10.2 unemployment he is over there pushing this climate change b.s.  He is wanting to enter into an agreement with China regarding the big countries paying fines for pollution and getting the money over to the smaller countries to help develop them.  We are in debt to China up to our eyeballs only a trillion dollars or so.  With noone working how the heck are they going to have the money to pay on the loans???  And he wants to enter into this Global Climate bull???  That will make the US responsible for even more debt.  I know the government is planning on making a fortune off of their cap and trade bill which will double our electric bills, triple our fuel costs and so on.  The cost of food and everything will go up under cap and trade.  Even more jobs will be lost because of this.  I hate to say it this man does not deserve to be president.  He is destroying this country in every aspect. 

    He needs time to study what to do in Afganistan because he doesn't know what to do.  It's only going on 2 months.  Our troops are dying over there because of this while we sit and wait for him to come up with a solution--because he has no experience in this type of thing.  So our kids are suppose to die until all of his advisors come up with a plan that will suit him. 

    This just proves my point.  With all of his inexperience he is not qualified to be president.  Our people should not have to die because of someones lack of experience.  Just my opinion.  These radical liberals should be thrown out of office on the unexperienced cans.  Just my opinion whats your thoughts?

    The following is some important information on the Cap and Trade Bill that passed the House. If you own a house, better read! 
     
    Obama, this Congress and whoever on their staffs (or PACs) that write this junk are truly out to destroy the middle class of the USA.
    
    Only the beginning from this administration. They are trying to ram through these huge tax bills before they are tossed out on their rears. 

    Beginning 1 year after enactment of the Cap and Trade Act, you won't be able to sell your home unless you retrofit it to comply with the energy and water efficiency standards of this Act. H.R. 2454, the "Cap & Trade" bill passed by the House of Representatives. If it also passed by the Senate, it will be the largest tax increase any of us has ever experienced.

    The Congressional Budget Office (supposedly non-partisan) estimates that in just a few years the average cost to every family of four will be $6,800 per year. No one is excluded. However, once the lower classes feel the pinch in their wallets, you can be sure these voters get a tax refund (even if they pay no taxes at all) to offset this new cost. Thus, you Mr. and Mrs. Middle Class America will have to pay even more since additional tax dollars will be needed to bail out everyone else.
    
    
    But wait. This awful bill (that no one in Congress has actually read) has many more surprises in it. Probably the worst one is this:

    A year from now you won't be able to sell your house. Yes, you read that right. The caveat is (there always is a caveat) that if you have enough money to make required major upgrades to your home, then you can sell it. But, if not, then forget it. Even pre-fabricated homes ("mobile homes") are included.

    In effect, this bill prevents you from selling your home without the permission of the EPA administrator. To get this permission, you will have to have the energy efficiency of your home measured. Then the government will tell you what your new energy efficiency requirement is and you will be forced to make modifications to your home under the retrofit provisions of this Act to comply with the new energy and water efficiency requirements.

    Then you will have to get your home measured again and get a license (called a "label" in the Act) that must be posted on your property to show what your efficiency rating is; sort of like the Energy Star efficiency rating label on your refrigerator or air conditioner. If you don't get a high enough rating, you can't sell.

    And, the EPA administrator is authorized to raise the standards every year, even above the automatic energy efficiency increases built into the Act. The EPA administrator, appointed by the President, will run the Cap & Trade program (AKA the "American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009") and is authorized to make any future changes to the regulations and standards he alone determines to be in the government's best interest. Requirements are set low initial y so the bill will pass Congress; then the Administrator can set much tougher new standards every year.

    The Act itself contains annual required increases in energy efficiency for private and commercial residences and buildings. However, the EPA administrator can set higher standards at any time. Sect. 202: Building Retrofit Program mandates a national retrofit program to increase the energy efficiency of all existing homes across America .
    
    Beginning 1 year after enactment of the Act, you won't be able to sell your home unless you retrofit it to comply with the energy and water efficiency standards of this Act. You had better sell soon, because the standards will be raised each year and will be really hard to meet in a few years. Whoopee! The Act allows the government to give you a grant of several thousand dollars to comply with the retrofit program requirements if you meet certain energy efficiency levels.

    But, hold on, the State can set additional requirements on who qualifies to receive the grants. You should expect requirements such as "can't have an income of more than $50K per year", "home selling price can't be more than $125K", or anything else to target the upper middle class (and that's YOU) and prevent them from qualifying for the grants. Most of us won't get a dime and will have to pay the entire cost of the retrofit out of our own pockets. More transfer of wealth, more "change you can believe in."
    
    Sect. 204: Building Energy Performance Labeling Program establishes a labeling program that for each individual residence will identify the achieved energy efficiency performance for "at least 90 percent of the residential market within 5 years after the date of the enactment of this Act."
    
    This means that within 5 years 90% of all residential homes in the U.S. must be measured and labeled. The EPA administrator will get $50M each year to enforce the labeling program. The Secretary of the Department of Energy will get an additional $20M each year to help enforce the labeling program. Some of this money will, of course, be spent on coming up with tougher standards each year.

    Oh, the label will be like a license for your car. You will be required to post the label in a conspicuous location in your home and will not be allowed to sell your home without having this label. And, just like your car license, you will probably be required to get a new label every so often - maybe every year. But, the government estimates the cost of measuring the energy efficiency of your home should only cost about $200 each time.

    Remember what they said about the auto smog inspections when they first started: that in California it would only cost $15. That was when the program started. Now the cost is about $50 for the inspection and certificate; a 333% increase. Expect the same from the home labeling program.
    
    Sect. 304: Greater Energy Efficiency in Building Codes establishes new energy efficiency guidelines for the National Building Code and mandates at 304(d), Application of National Code to State and Local Jurisdictions, that 1 year after enactment of this Act, all state and local jurisdictions must adopt the National Building Code energy efficiency provisions or must obtain a certification from the federal government that their state and/or local codes have been brought into full compliance with the National Building Code energy efficiency standards.

    Dump the male flight attendants. No one wanted them in the first place. Replace all the female attendants with good looking strippers! What the hell, they dont even serve food anymore, so whats the loss? The strippers would at least triple the alcohol sales and get a 'party atmosphere' going in the cabin. And of course, every businessman in this country will start flying again, hoping to see naked women. Because of tips, female flight attendants wouldnt need a salary, thus saving even more money. I suspect tips would be so good that we could charge the women for working the plane and havethem kick back 20%of the tips, including lap dances and 'special services'.

    Muslims would be afraid to get on planes for fear of seeing naked women. Hijackings would come to a screeching halt, and the airlines would see record revenues. This is definitely a win-win situation if we handle it right--a golden opportunity to turn a liability into an asset. Why didnt Obama think of this? Why do I still have to do everything myself?

• Visionaries

    It is enjoyable for me to return to Philadelphia on occasion, where my late wife and I lived for 5 years, soon after we were married.  Valley Forge is so serene and impressive, the Liberty Bell is wonderful too. My favorites though are visiting Independence Hall and Independence National Park. Usually I end the day with a great meal at Bookbinders, on Walnut Street (you cannot beat the snapper soup-a true Philadelphia original).

     

    There is more history here than probably anywhere else in our great nation. Visiting these historical landmarks affords me the opportunity to think, and contemplate. I think about what the visionary framers of the Constitution might say on the current debate over health care “deform”. I took the opportunity to read one of the greatest (and my favorite) collections of political vision, The Federalist Papers while (which are located at Independence Hall), and in doing so, I learned a unique perspective on what America’s founding fathers intended for this Republic.
    
    In particular, I was inspired by the Federalist Paper Number 10.
    
    In this writing, James Madison spoke of factions being one of the biggest concerns to the Republic. And he made the following comment: "the most common and durable source of factions has been the various and unequal distribution of property. Those who hold and those who are without property have ever formed distinct interests in society."
    
    Madison believed that is was our very individuality, which made an unequal distribution of property inevitable. The reason for that is our freedom. We have the freedom to succeed, or not, based on our talents, skills, and initiative. And he spoke of the government being necessary to “protect” the inequitable division of property, not to “correct” it. To say that Madison, and the rest of the visionaries, would have been opposed to the concept of  “spreading the wealth” is, a mammoth understatement.
    
    So with regard to the current debate, and the marginally House passed “deform bill” I offer this:
    
    While I believe that the framers would agree with the idea that each American citizen should have access to health care when it is needed, I do not believe that they would see the bill that recently came out of the House as worthy of consideration by our duly elected representatives. As James Clyburn so accurately offered not long ago, most of what comes out of Congress is not authorized in the Constitution. And the health care deform bill is most emphatically not (for those in doubt, refer to the 5th, 10th and 16th Amendments).
    
    For too long, the people have tolerated a government that too often acts in the government’s best interests, and not those of the people. That same government has protected this power by offering the people massive entitlements, same as have many of the European socialist “democracies”, for decades. But in doing so, they have slowly eroded the freedoms enjoyed by the citizens.  Or, more accurately, the people have surrendered those freedoms in exchange for a perceived “security” blanket. And the Federal Government has also usurped the authorities of the individual states, as described and guaranteed in the Constitution, transforming the Republic into the large, unwieldy, and in the end, unmanageable, oversized Federal Government that we are becoming day by day.
    
    History has shown that a large national government cannot, nor will not, survive the test of time. And have no delusions, if the United States continues down this very path, we will experience the same fate as great democratic ‘experiments’ from the past.
    
    Take this quote from Thomas Jefferson to heart:
    
    ”When the government fears the people, you have liberty. When the people fear the government, you have tyranny.”
    
    Which will you choose? Which will your elected representatives choose?

    The Business Roundtable, an organization comprised of "America's leading CEOs" came out with a report that shows that

    "....health care reform could offer real savings for companies and their employees."  "The right reforms....could result in health care costs growing at the same rate as overall GDP-about 4 percent per year" instead of "the recent 10 percent per year."

    "This report shows that effective reforms can slow health care cost by as much as $3,000 per employee in 2019"  according to the CEO of Kodak Company.

    Obviously reform would help our large corporations be more competitive with the rest of the world.  Who would know better than the CEOs of America' largest corporations?

    When someone asked Pelosi about her healthcare reform bill being unconstitutional ...she replied. "Are you serious?"   One has to wonder if she has ever read the constitution. How could she believe it is lawful to force Americans to get healthcare or be punished?  I see many lawsuits in the future unless, as I have said before, the supreme court does away with our constitutional rights as we have known them.    JMO

    Our government is at it again. We now have been introduced to the Flake-Gutierrez Bill for immigration reform, otherwise known as HR 1645, The Security Through Regularized Immigration and a Vibrant Economy, (STRIVE) Act, introduced on the floor March 22, 2007.

    Illegal aliens do not have to pay back taxes; they only have to enter into an agreement with the IRS to eventually pay the taxes. (Section 602)

    The bill also requires taxpayers, you and I, to fund grants to private organizations to help illegal aliens apply for amnesty. (Section 662)

    If an illegal alien applies for this amnesty and is denied for using fraudulent documents, the U.S. government cannot use that information to have that alien removed. Any government employee who divulges that information will be fined $10,000. (Section 604)

    If you are currently in the U.S. on a legal visa, for whatever purpose, you do not qualify for this amnesty. However if you are in this country on an overstayed visa you do qualify. (Section 601)

    The bill does not send illegal immigrants to the "back of the line". There are over 3 million aliens who have been approved for green cards as relatives of U.S. citizens or permanent residents and who have been waiting patiently for visas to become available. They will continue to have to wait overseas for years, even decades, for their visas to become available. Under the Flake-Gutierrez bill, millions of illegal immigrants who will claim to have been here illegally since 2006 can work in the U.S. and be eligible for permanent residence eight years after enactment (Section 602)

    Employers who hired illegal aliens are absolved from all civil and criminal liability for having hired illegal aliens prior to this bill. (Section 607)

    This bill rewards illegal behavior with "the fruits of the crime." If I steal a car, an Amnesty might keep me out of jail. However, do I get to retain the car? If I kidnap and rape a woman, an Amnesty might keep me out of prison for life. However, does the law hand her back to me? If I cheat on my taxes, Amnesty might enable me to avoid penalties and interest. However, we still have to pay any amount due. By contrast, this bill rewards each and every illegal alien with permanent US residence.

    Even the $1000/$500 fines (assuming they are ever collected) are a farce. Obviously, illegal aliens have earned far more than $1000/$500 working in the US and imposed considerably greater costs on American society. To put this in perspective, if I steal $10,000 and then have to return $1,000, is that really a fine or just a partial repayment of my ill-gotten gains?

    This bill also grants Amnesty to every corporate exploiter of illegal aliens. The details (and there are plenty) really don't matter. If you profited from breaking our laws and exploiting illegals, then why even bother having laws to protect this nation. Clearly, this will encourage corporations to fully enforce our immigration laws in the future.

    This nation is now plagued by extremely violent (they mutilate their victims) illegal alien gangs. How would this bill address this quite serious problem? By giving illegal alien gang member’s legal US residence and a "path to citizenship is not exactly a plus, given that all illegal alien gang members are subject to deportation now, and a few are actually deported (most are protected by sanctuary policies).

    "Deporting illegal-alien gang members has been a top ICE priority. This bill would end that: Under it, a gang member qualifies for the Z-visa privileges as long as he simply signs a renunciation of gang affiliation."

    Indeed, the bill makes the gang problem considerably worse. How? The community networks that support these gang members will only expand via the Amnesty further embedding these criminals in our nation even if they don't get Amnesty. Worse, many will marry (if only on paper) and bear children (even if they contribute nothing to them) and use these marriages and children to avoid deportation.

    Worse, the bill gives the US government just 24 hours to determine if an illegal alien is eligible or not. This means that most gang members will get an ID card entitling them to remain in the US. The bill does allow these cards to be cancelled if subsequent evidence shows that the illegal alien is ineligible for Amnesty. However, the US government has no way to retrieve the cards handed out to MS-13 members. Worse, vast numbers of gang criminals will fall through the cracks of the system simply because the US government simply has no way to check the 12-20 million Amnesty requests that will flood the system.

    Sadly, the immigration bill would reward most (almost all?) illegal alien terrorists with legal US residence and a "path to citizenship". Not exactly a plus for the American people. Indeed, this bill is huge step backwards in the War on Terror. This isn't exactly a hypothetical point. Terrorists have repeatedly benefited from Amnesty programs (see the CIS reports) in the past.

    Obama’s given reason for this bill is to secure illegals to healthcare and as usual, he doesn’t tell about everything else that this bill will establish for further support for illegal immigrants/terrorists!  But then again…it’s nothing new or surprising from this administration!  To add…it will cripple the war on terrorists here at home!

    This Bill will be passed and linked to the Healthcare Plan and will propose unlimited damages to our country!  This bill along with a number of other bills is TREASON against the citizens of this country!

    S-9 Stronger Economy, Stronger Borders Act of 2009, sponsored by Senator Harry Reid which will reduce the border fence from 800 miles down to 200 miles and allow for chain immigration where not only can an illegal get amnesty and citizenship, but can also import his extended family giving them the same rights!  This is giving away our country cheap and is TREASON against the citizens and the country!

    Obama appointed Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis who states, "We are all Americans, whether you are legalized or not".  All Obama's appointed positions were made for a reason and promoted positions given to carry out his agendas which goes against the country, our security, and the American citizens!

    Solis hopes to push initatives granting in-state rates to illegal immigrants, and to expand health care for undocumented workers.  The contributions of undocumented immigrants and the benefits they provide to the U.S. economy more than balance the meager health care resources which they are eligible to receive.

    We do need REFORM but not in the way our government is performing, but in the way the American People should be acting upon!  It is time for a NEW "CHANGE"!  The REFORM of our government and cut of government growth and spending is the only way to regain once was our country back to the American Citizens!

    In his latest ads he talks about how HE has cut government in Florida, yet chides Washington DC and Obama for increasing government. He cites the CATO Institute's rating of him as #1 in fiscal management (even though he little if nothing to do with slimming Florida government). He double speaks, just like many of the political hacks - both Democrat and Republican - in Washington.

    He talks about cutting our taxes. But when you look at your property tax bill, you see little if any change - if anything an increase. Basically, he has taken our tax dollars out of one pocket, and put it in the other, trying to convince us that we are better off because of it.

    It isn't going to work Charlie.

    You had no problem with "big government" when you were brown nosing Obama at the "Town Hall", where you talked about taking the stimulus money. You know Charlie, the stimulus you were for, before you were against it. Crist, in his own words, saying: “During the town hall, I reiterated my support for the federal stimulus package, and pledged to the people of Florida that here in Florida we stand ready to use our share of the money quickly and responsibly to create new jobs and serve our most vulnerable citizens.”

    Crist said we needed to get our "fair share" of the money and that it would be a "bridge of help".  Real "conservative" language isn't it? To me, he sounds just like another ghetto freeloader trying to get their "fair share" from the government.

    Well Charlie, you took the money. Now where is the stimulus in Florida? Is 165,000 jobs lost in the private sector stimulus? All you did was take the money and shuffle it into the state and county governments. These entities stimulate nothing. They don't create jobs, and they sure as hell don't create new business.

    And you want to go to Washington to fix things?. Not with my vote your not.

    Pelosi bill: Jail for no insurance

    The nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation reported that the House version of the healthcare bill specifies that those who don’t buy health insurance and do not pay the fine of about 2.5 percent of their income for failing to do so can face a penalty of up to five years in prison!
    
    The bill describes the penalties as follows:

    • Section 7203 — misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year.
    
    • Section 7201 — felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years.” [page 3]
    
    That anyone should face prison for not buying health insurance is simply incredible.
    
    And how much will the stay-out-of-jail insurance cost? The Joint Committee noted that “according to a recent analysis by the Congressional Budget Office, the lowest-cost family non-group plan under HR 3862 [the Pelosi bill] would cost $15,000 by 2016.”
    
    Obama’s bill only provides subsidies to help pay this enormous sum after families making about $45,000 have paid 8 percent of their income for insurance and after those earning a household income of about $65,000 have kicked in 12 percent.
    
    The Joint Committee on Taxation noted that while the Senate Finance Committee version of the bill did not include criminal penalties, “The House Democrats’ bill, however, contains no similar language protecting American citizens from civil and criminal tax penalties that could include a $250,000 fine and five years in jail.”
    
    Remember that simply buying catastrophic insurance, which may be all the young uninsured family needs, does not constitute having adequate insurance under the Obama bill. It has to be total, all-inclusive insurance for one to avoid the penalties in the legislation. That is because Obama wants to use these premiums from the currently uninsured to subsidize his program.
    
    So Ms. Pelosi is requiring Americans to pay these steep premiums, or a fine of 2.5 percent of their income for not doing so, or, potentially, go to prison!
    
    Anyone who is familiar with the U.S. prison system can attest to the large number of people incarcerated for similar white-collar offenses. That the House bill would treat failure to carry health insurance or pay the fine as tax evasion or willful nonpayment is amazing!
    
    And where is the constitutional basis for requiring everyone to buy insurance? It is OK for a state to make drivers pay for automobile insurance? Driving is not a right, it is a privilege, and the state may regulate it by demanding insurance. Banks can require homeowners to buy insurance as a condition of their lending. But how does the federal government get the right to require a family to buy health insurance or face a civil penalty and, failing that, to face either a criminal fine or jail?
    
    The tough penalties in the House bill are designed to keep insurance companies from opposing the bill. It was the relaxation of these penalties in the Senate Finance Committee version of the legislation that led the companies to reverse field and come out in opposition to the legislation. The insurance companies want to see their coffers swell when tens of millions of new customers are required to buy insurance. The more draconian the penalties for failing to pay them large sums of money to pad their bottom lines, the better.
    
    The more you read this bill, the worse it gets.

• The Lies Are Catching Up

    When Obama exagerated in February and said that the $787 billion stimulus bill would unleash "a new wave of innovation, activity and construction," he probably didn't have tidying up gravestones in mind. But that is what some of the money has paid for, along with frozen fish sperm, Taser guns and an ongoing political back pain that Obama easily could have easily avoided.
    
    As reporters start to pour over the details of the biggest fraud on Americans to date, the stimulus, they are finding the spending reports the White House released a little more than a week ago contain lots of wasted taxpayers dollars similar to the above.

    In addition to the above, reporters at ProPublica found stimulus money spent on tickets for a musical version of "Little House on the Prairie," a cotton candy machine and, breakfast at Fuddruckers. Sadly, the so called "right wing Republicans" told everyone about this fraud before it happened. They were chided as the party of "No". After all no one read the bill.  But as seems to be commonplace, Kool-Aid drinkers believed the liberal lies, instead of the sound of America being flushed down the toilet.
    
    Then there's the uncovering of a huge "whopper" over how many jobs have actually been "created or saved," as the administration likes to put it. Obama says 640,329 so far, despite the fact that we have lost 3.4 million jobs since Obama was elected (blames Bush for the 37 time). 
    
    Last week, reporters actually interested in facts, turned up some serious cases of job inflation. Examples:
    
    - The Associated Press found that a pay raise for 508 employees was counted as 935 jobs saved.
    - The New York Times discovered that $1,047 for a rider mower for a cemetery in Arkansas was credited with saving or creating 50 jobs.
    - In Milwaukee, reporters at the Journal Sentinel uncovered examples of double counting, jobs for projects that hadn't received any stimulus money, and other problems.
    - The Chicago Tribune found that $4.7 million sent to schools in North Chicago was credited with saving 473 jobs in a district that employs only 290.
    - USA Today reported that a $26,174 grant to fix a fence and repair roofs in Texas was reported to have created 450 jobs. Actual number of jobs involved was six.
    
    Even assuming the total jobs number is right, the administration is also defending itself against claims that the cost per job (based on $159 billion spent so far) comes out to more than $240,000. And of course, it doesn't help Obama that all these created or saved stimulus jobs have come at a time when the ranks of the unemployed swelled nearly 600,000 in October and almost 1 million since June.
    
    Obama can complain that stimulus critics finding out the truth are right wingers, committing calculator abuse, or focusing on small data problems. But he has only himself to blame. That's what you get for trying to lie, cheat and steal from the taxpayers.
    
    Consider a Conservative approach:
    
    Rather than funnel the stimulus money through government agencies, he could have simply handed out roughly $6,500 in cash to every household in the country. Sure, it would have stimulated the economy and created many jobs, but the government could not become massive and control American lives.
    
    Obama also could have avoided lying and being so hyper-focused on putting out specific job number predictions (right down to the congressional district level) and instead he could have lied as usual and stuck to a simple, vague claim that when the government borrows and spends hundreds of billions of dollars, it's bound to create or save some jobs.
    
    And, of course, Obama could have not bothered to make his transparency pledge at all. That is another one of the biggest lies he has been caught in. I mean with 40+  czars and a socialist shadow government how can you be transparent?
    
    He is caught only because investigative reporters have poured through these stimulus spending reports filed and posted online that reporters and critics are having such a field day with the data.
    
    Trouble for Obama is, perception and exposure is everything in public policy, and no matter what the actual effects of Obama's lies regarding stimulus spending, this steady diet of news reports about weird spending projects and phantom jobs will only cause the public to see the stimulus as a gigantic boondoggle. Already, only a quarter think it's helping the economy, according to a recent Rasmussen poll.

    Their days are numbered beginning in 2010! Take it to the polls people!
